Electronic gate arm temporally not working

Electric gate access been taken out of service temporarily. Somehow the timing for the gate arm to come down changed drastically to about six seconds risking damage to cars. We have contacted the gate arm company to come check it out and we are going to install two loops in the driveway that will prevent the gate arm from coming down if there is a vehicle inside those loops.
